In The Making

A Watercolor Retreat in Southern Portugal

Paint Boldly. Grow with Support. Join Us in Portugal.

March 20–28, 2026 · The Algarve, Portugal

This is more than a watercolor retreat. It’s a quiet, focused week to reconnect with your art and feel supported as you keep going. The teaching is steady and clear, with space for your own rhythm. Whether you're starting fresh or returning after a long break, you'll be met with encouragement, not pressure.

We’ll gather at a private villa that’s ours alone for eight days—a peaceful home base just a short walk from the sea in Portugal’s Algarve region. Each day offers watercolor instruction, time to rest or explore, and optional movement sessions to support your creative energy and well-being.

Early bird pricing is available through October 15. Space is limited. Reserve your spot to join us.

About the Retreat

A week to paint, connect, and feel creatively awake—no experience required.

Whether you're returning to art after years away or looking for new momentum in your creative practice, this retreat offers a grounded, skill-building space where you can reconnect with the joy of making.

We’ll spend eight days together at a private villa in Portugal’s Algarve region—a peaceful place with private and shared room options, nourishing meals (vegetarian and vegan friendly), and time to explore both painting and presence.

You’ll be guided by watercolor instructor Lee Schauer, whose warm thoughtful teaching blends foundational technique with gentle mindset support. Many of our conversations include what gets in the way: self-doubt, perfectionism, fear of being bad at something. In this space, we work through those things as we learn.

Each day includes watercolor sessions, time to rest or wander, and optional morning and evening practices led by a movement therapist which includes gentle movement, breath-work, and grounding exercises to support your creative process and your nervous system.

You’ll leave with new skills, renewed confidence, and maybe even a few lasting friendships.
